Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, serve as a liaison between students, school and the home; make home visits for the purpose of understanding and helping to alleviate the sources or barriers of student problems in relation to school attendance; encourage parental involvement and understanding of school programs; provide information and materials to parents and families to assist them in utilizing community services and local resources; perform a variety of clerical duties.

Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Education: High School graduate or the equivalent. Proof required. Supplemental college-level coursework in social science, psychology or related field is desired. Experience: Two years’ experience in school or community relations work. Testing: Passing scores on the following District Clerical tests: Child Welfare & Attendance Liaison, Basic Excel, Basic Word, and Spanish/English Oral Translation within the last (3) three years.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California driver's license. Proof must be submitted at time of employment. WORK YEAR AND WORKING HOURS: “A-1”, 8 hours; 236 days; 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. SALARY: Range 44: $23.63 to $28.73 per hour, in five steps + VBD ($100/mon). Family medical and dental benefits available at 100% District paid. TESTING INFORMATION: The District Office Assistant, Basic Excel, Basic Word, and Spanish/English Oral Translation tests will be administered by invitation only on Friday, October 25, 2024. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to test and notified via email.
