We manage alternative education programs for students at Calaveras River Academy, Mountain Oaks Charter School (an Independent Study program), and Oakendell Community School. We also offer adult education services, and a variety of special education services as the Responsible Local Agency (“RLA”) for the Special Education Local Plan Area (“SELPA”); including, five special education preschool programs and a program for transition-aged young adults (ages 18-22). ***CCOE is seeking an experienced principal/teacher to serve as a substitute while our regular principal is absent or taking an extended leave of absence. The Substitute Principal/Teacher will be temporarily responsible for the overall administration of schools grades 6-12.*** The County Superintendent of Schools provides a structured educational opportunity for those students unable to adapt to the regular school program and for those students whose behavior has resulted in an expulsion from regular school. Target populations shall initially be pupils 12-18 years of age and in grades six through twelve. The Community Schools’ education is an alternative program that serves the educational needs of students under the protection of Juvenile Court or local school districts. The schools are operated under the provisions of the California Education Code Sections 1980. The Community School Principal-Teacher will work collaboratively to maintain a positive climate and culture for students and staff, plan, organize and direct the programs and activities of the Community School; direct and supervise professional level and office support staff; coordinate and maintain liaison with schools, County Probation, other outside agencies and the community; assist in developing the Community School budget; teach Community School classes as required; perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, from an accredited college or university. * Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in education or closely related field. * Valid California Credential or license authorizing service in grade levels and areas assigned; Administrative Services Credential. * Successful teaching experience, desired at multiple grade levels, totaling at least three (3) years.
