Requirements / Qualifications

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Under general direction, plans, organizes and supervises the operation of the District transportation system; supervises the maintenance and repair of all vehicles; and does related work as required. The Board of Education designates this position as Management. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE OF: Laws related to school bus transportation and vehicle codes. Budget preparation and control. Vehicle operation, inspection, maintenance and repair. ABILITY TO: Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Develop positive working relationships with subordinates, peers and supervisors. Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action. Effectively supervise and accurately evaluate the performance of assigned staff. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and five years increasingly responsible experience in a school transportation program.

  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / CERTIFICATES Valid California Class A or B driver's license. The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment physical examination. Cost of the exam will be borne by the District. A pre-employment drug screening will also be administered. If selected for the position, out-of-district applicants must be T.B. tested and fingerprinted. A practical skills test may be administered at the time of interview.
