The DSPS Department of the Long Beach Community College District is seeking highly qualified individuals for current opportunities as an Instructional Aide-Disabled Students Programs & Services (DSPS)! This individual will support the operations and maintenance of Disabled Students Programs and Services including College to Career (C2C) offices by providing assistance to individuals or groups of students according to instructions. They will prepare instructional materials for student use as requested and according to approved procedures. This position will directly support students enrolled in Disabled Student Programs.
We are looking for individuals who have graduated from high school or obtained GED equivalency and have two (2) years of customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
The successful candidate will need to:
• be adaptable and flexible• be a creative problem solver• exhibit exceptional customer service skills, business communication, project management, and organizational skills• have the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders across the District and lead a diverse team

• Eligibility list: Will be valid for 12 months once approved or ratified by the Personnel Commission. We reserve the right to use the established eligibility list for vacancies (permanent and temporary) in this classification as well as related classifications.• Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Duties
GENERAL PURPOSE
Under the direction of an assigned Administrator, provides instructional and clerical assistance in the Disabled Students Programs & Services (DSPS) offices. Assist students in the proper use of equipment and materials; and perform related duties as assigned.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Instructional Aide - DSPS provides assistance in the operation and maintenance of Disabled Students Programs and Services including College to Career (C2C) offices to provide assistance to individuals or groups of students according to instructions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
Education, Training and Experience:
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent and two (2) years of customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:May require a valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the City's vehicle insurance policy.
Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements, and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.

Test parts are determined by the size and competitiveness of the candidate pool.
