Requirements / Qualifications
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES • A proven verifiable record of positive staff, student, parent, co-worker and/or administrative support and relationships. • A proven verifiable record of placing appropriate emphasis on good sportsmanship, academic excellence, positive attitudes and character. • A demonstrated ability to serve as a positive role model for students and a commitment to holding all students and adults associated with the program to the same standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES • Coordinate with the Band Director and Athletic Director on all matters pertaining to the scheduling of performances/contests and the purchasing of equipment. • Understanding of and ability to teach appropriate drill techniques and proper application of drill techniques. • Organize, oversee and conduct all practice sessions. • Ability to participate in pep assemblies • Establish high expectations that are appropriate for the team members • Notify parents and students of dates and times of practice sessions and directions to competitions and other performances • Responsible for the safety and securing of team before, during and after events and traveling to and from events. • Set-up preseason parent orientation meeting for students and parents to provide expectations of the program • Make sure that facilities and equipment are ready for use and that equipment is issued • Make sure that all uniforms and equipment are approved by the Director/Athletic Director and a purchase order submitted before anything is ordered • Cooperate with other coaches whenever facilities must be shared * * * * * * * *
JOB REQUIREMENTS • Possess a valid First Aid and CPR card (paid for by applicant) • Valid TB test clearance • Fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice and FBI • State coaching certifications from NFHS • Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training • Bloodborne Pathogens Training DISTRICT REQUIREMENTS • *Fingerprints on file as required by State Law • *TB Skin Test as required by State Law STIPEND Based on the current salary schedule, the stipend will be $4,308.00 APPLICATION PROCESS Applications from qualified candidates are invited.
