Job Summary The Instrumental Music Conservatory at California School of the Arts - San Gabriel Valley is seeking to hire a teacher for Cello Methods and Chamber Music classes for students grades 6-12, beginning January 21, 2024. Work may begin sooner, depending on the hiring date. Classes are offered from 2:40 PM to 4:45 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays. Cello Methods and String Chamber Music is an immersive course designed for beginning and advanced students, focusing on individual cello technique and collaborative string ensemble performance. Students will develop fundamental and advanced cello playing skills through personalized instruction, including bowing techniques, tonal production, and interpretive musicality. In the chamber music component, students will rehearse and perform in small string ensembles, honing their ensemble skills, communication, and artistic expression through repertoire from various styles and periods. Emphasis will be placed on individual accountability and the nuances of group dynamics, preparing students for higher-level performance opportunities.
