BASIC FUNCTION Under general direction of the afterschool program administrator and lead teacher to plan and implement a specialized program of education and enrichment which relates but is not limited to subjects such as art, music, science, and homework help. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES - Provide supervision and specialized instruction and enrichment activities in and out of classrooms - Plan, provide and direct student with enrichment lessons and activities relating to a specific subject area or area of visual and performing arts - Prepare classroom for activities - Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment - Use relevant technology to support instruction - Manage student behavior and enforce rules and procedures - Record accurate daily attendance OTHER DUTIES Performs related duties similar to the above in scope and function as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: - Fundamentals, principles, and theory of the specialized subject - Appropriate instructional methodology - Objectives of the state-adopted series in a specific subject Ability to: - Manage a class of elementary aged students. - Instruct students in concepts under direction of a lead teacher. - Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. - Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
