We have an exciting opportunity for a Special Programs Assistant, Nursing position located at our campus in Menifee, CA. Under the general supervision of the Dean of Instruction or designee, the Special Programs Assistant, Nursing is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Student Services under the direction of the Associate Dean of Nursing and Allied Health and Director of the Associate Degree Nursing Program. The Nursing Student Program Specialist assists in the administration of and coordinates the daily operation of the Associate Degree Nursing Education Program. Major duties are to assist Nursing Students in the application and enrollment process. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. A high school diploma or GED; AND 2. Four (4) years of responsible special program experience equivalent to the duties described above; AND 3. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, address and photograph***
SUBSTITUTIONS Substitutions for meeting the minimum qualifications for the experience are allowed, as follows: 1. On the job training in a general clerical assistant classification on the basis of two (2) years of responsible experience for every one (1) year of special program experience cited above; OR 2.Two (2) years of college-level education may be substituted for two (2) years of the experience requirement, on a year-for-year basis; OR 3. A Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of experience equivalent to the duties described under typical activities above DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. Experience providing exceptional customer service in a busy environment 2. Familiarity with career education programs 3. Professional work experience in a clinical patient care environment 4. Prior experience in approaching work and interaction with colleagues and/or students in an equity-minded manner. Ability to promote an inclusive and welcoming work/education environment
