Job Summary
Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Career Services Supervisor or appointed designee, the Student Engagement Generalist works with students to promote and enhance attendance. The purpose of this position is to determine the cause of student absences and to provide assistance to students in order to promote retention and graduation rates. Requirements / Qualifications
The position requires the following items to be attached to the application, or the application will not be considered: 1. Resume 2. Letter of Reference (optional) 3. Proof of Highest Level of Education . Associate’s Degree, or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education with prior experience working in a school setting . Bilingual in a language - preferably in one or more of the following: include Spanish, Farsi, Slavic dialects . Possession of a valid state issued driver license required. . Reliable transportation and ability to occasionally work hours outside the traditional school day.
. Knowledge of student attendance policies and procedures . Sufficient record keeping and general office skills to record student contacts . Sufficient human relation skills to initiate contact and conversation with others, be persuasive, organize small group processes and training and demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse ethnic, cultural, social, and economic backgrounds of students . Experience with preparing and presenting information to groups . Ability to work harmoniously with students, staff and administration . Ability to consult with staff and administration in a fast paced environment sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient . Ability to follow oral and written instruction . The ability to communicate with a diverse group of people on a daily basis . Possession of a valid California driver's license
