Job Summary
Assists one or more early childhood teachers in the education, care, supervision, and instruction of pre-school aged children, in classrooms, common areas, and playgrounds at a center dedicated to pre-kindergarten children, and in the community. Maintains and prepares classroom and related environments, materials, and control of forms. Assists in developing play-oriented curriculum. This position can step in to cover Lead Teacher Head Start & Preschool during absences. Education required: The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and 12 college units of Early Child Development. Work experience of 50 days of 3+ hours per day in a child care program environment within the last 2 years. Must possess, or be eligible to obtain, a Child Development “Associate Teacher” (or higher) Permit. Upon obtaining the CD Permit, employee must maintain the Permit. Must possess (or maintain immediately upon hiring) a food handler’s card. Possess and maintain a pediatric first aid certificate and CPR certificate.
