We're looking for a talented and creative Director, Admissions & Records to join our amazing team and help guide the students of Long Beach City College in new and excited ways!The incumbent plans, directs, and administers an integrated and comprehensive admissions and records department. The incumbent is responsible for student admissions, registration, enrollment, graduation evaluation, and record services for a diverse student population.
We are looking for someone who has attained a Bachelor's degree in education, business, or public administration, or a related discipline and six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in an admissions/enrollment and records function with two (2) of the years serving in a leadership capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Master's degree is highly desired. The successful candidate will need to:

• have the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders across the District and lead a diverse team

• Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
• Location: Will support both the Liberal Arts Campus (LAC) and Trades, Technology, and Community Learning Campus (TTC)
• Salary: Range 13 $137,885 - $187,868 Annually
• Eligibility list: Will be valid for 6 months once approved or ratified by the Personnel Commission. We reserve the right to use the established eligibility list for vacancies (permanent and temporary) in this classification as well as related classifications
• Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Duties
GENERAL PURPOSE Plans, directs, and administers an integrated and comprehensive admissions and records department. The position is responsible for student admissions, registration, enrollment, graduation evaluation, and record services for a diverse student population. Directs and prepares mandated reporting of student information to ensure compliance with all regulations governing aspects of Admissions and Records and Veterans programs. Acts as liaison between District and external agencies including federal and state auditors. Serves as College Registrar.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
The Director, Admissions and Records directs and implements the operations and procedures of the Admissions and Records and Veterans Offices in support of the District's strategic mission focused on student success and enrollment and retention initiatives. The incumbent plans, organizes, implements, and administers the department and staff through subordinate managers and supervisors. The Director must resolve complex and difficult enrollment services' student, faculty, and staff issues while promoting a welcoming and positive service-oriented environment. The Director ensures institutional compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, California Community College Chancellor's Office mandates, and other applicable rules and regulations.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
Education, Training and Experience:Bachelor's degree in education, business, or public administration, or a related discipline and six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in an admissions/enrollment and records function with two (2) of the years serving in a leadership capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Master's degree is highly desired.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements: May require a valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy. Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements, and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.
