Job Summary
DEFINITION Under supervision of the Director of Transportation or designee, perform journeymen level mechanical repair and maintenance on large gasoline, diesel-powered, CNG school buses and other District mechanical equipment. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; any combination equivalent to sufficient training and experience to demonstrate appropriate knowledge and abilities; journeymen mechanic status in automotive servicing, bus, and truck repairs. Licenses and other requirements: Valid California Class A driver’s license No vehicle type restrictions Valid medical certificate issued by a District approved physician Subject to random drug testing First Aid and CPR Certificates Driving record acceptable to the District’s insurance carrier Complete background investigation as required HVAC Certification Break Inspector Certification Desired Qualification: Experience in fleet repair; basic arc welding certification. Fork Lift License
