Job Summary
Only student teachers who have been placed with a master teacher through the Val Verde Unified School District Human Resources Department may submit an application. All other candidates desiring to apply for a regular Substitute Teacher position may do so under regular recruitment postings.

Documentation required: Please see below for required documentation and attachments. Must be currently placed as a student teacher within the Val Verde Unified School District.
Minimum Qualifications: Must hold one of the following: - Valid California Multiple Subject, Single Subject, or Special Education Credential OR - 30-Day Substitute Teacher Permit OR - Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university (we will assist you with applying for the 30-Day Substitute Teacher Permit upon employment as a substitute teacher with us) Note: Basic Skills may be met by one of the following: *Passage of CBEST exam *Qualifying Score on SAT or ACT *Qualifying Score on CSU Early Assessment Program *Qualifying Scores on College Board Advanced Placement (AP) Exams *Passage of a Basic Skills Exam from another state *Meet basic Skills requirement by coursework *Passage of Multiple Subject CSET Plus Writing Skills Exam See CTC leaflet for additional/detailed information about Basic Skills: https://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/leaflets/basic-skills-requirement-(cl-667) Online Application Attachments: Interested applicants are required to submit an EDJOIN online application and the following attachments: - Letter of Interest - Resume - Letter of Professional Reference: a signed and dated letter professional reference (not older than 1 year) - Bachelor’s Degree: Copy of Transcript verifying bachelor’s degree conferral.
