Requirements / Qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Serve as the first point of customer services contact at the Educational Services department at the district office. - Greet and announce visitors and callers. Arrange for or may convey information to visitors in a second language. - Make and receive phone calls. Receive and relay messages to district staff and parents. - Provide technical information in person and by telephone concerning policies and procedures of the special education program according to established guidelines; respond to inquiries from in-district and out-of-district personnel as requested; maintain confidentiality of sensitive student information; provide forms and distribute completed forms to appropriate staff. - Coordinate and maintain the special education information system (SEIS) for the Special Education department, compliance monitoring, create records, process requests from other districts, and provide technical support for database users in the resolution of data processing application problems, issues, and concerns. - Provide technical support to staff regarding special education related CALPADS errors. - Maintain student information to ensure data integrity across multiple information systems, but not limited to, SEIS, CALPADS, and AERIES. - Obtain and maintain confidential special education-related documents, convert hard copies to digital formats, upload to the special education information system (SEIS), and file hard copies into student files for ready access. Ensure the timely distribution and receipt of a variety of records and documents.

Education and Experience: - Any combination equivalent to: a High School diploma or equivalent supplemented by post-secondary course work in general office practices and three (3) years of general clerical experience in an education based environment. Experience in Special Education is a plus. May require bilingual skills. Licenses and other Requirements: - Valid California Driver’s License.
