Job Summary

Job Number: 2425-00801 This Children's Program Specialist position will be in Butte College's Child Development Center (CDC). The goal of the CDC is to provide high-quality childcare that is respectful of and responsive to children by developing a partnership with parents and families. We also aim to provide high-quality lab instruction to incoming college students who are learning to work in the CDC. At the CDC, we don't just accept the diversity of children, families, staff, and college students, we celebrate, support, and thrive on it for the benefit of our entire learning community. The Children's Program Specialist position will perform the following duties: • Celebrate and support diversity by promoting an inclusive learning environment for all children, families, staff, and college students. • Provide responsive, relationship-based care and create a stimulating environment for children. • Develop creative and developmentally-appropriate activities based on children's interests that promote a passion for learning. • Build and cultivate partnerships and relationships with families, by maintaining open communication and supporting continual involvement. • Create a nurturing environment that promotes play and a sense of discovery and wonder. • Work in a collaborative relationship with families, other CDC staff, lab students, and college faculty. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This is a 9-month position with the months of June and July off, starts work one week before each semester, and works all instructional days only
