POSITION DESCRIPTION: The position of Director I, Instructional Support, Innovation and Competitive Advantage, under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Student Programs and Services, is responsible for supporting instructional programs and program evaluation activities to improve competitive outcomes for specific student populations such as alternative education and special education. The incumbent will provide professional learning and technical assistance to administrators and teachers county-wide in the areas of classroom instruction, assessment and accountability, standards, student achievement, and strategic interventions. The position is responsible for supporting and providing resources on curriculum and innovative, effective instructional practices related to specific student populations. This position is designated as a Certificated Management position and is part of the Management Leadership Team.

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience. At least four (4) years increasingly responsible experience in instructional leadership is required. A minimum of three (3) years of successful administrative experience in a comprehensive public-school setting, or at a district or county office level is required. Experience in high-yielding professional development strategies, research-based practices, instructional coaching, and comprehensive data analysis preferred. Experience in Special Education desirable. EDUCATION: Master’s degree in education or related field from an accredited college/university required. Doctorate degree from an accredited institution in a related field preferred. CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES: • Possession of a valid California Teaching Credential or Special Education and Administrative Credential appropriate for K-12 public school administration • Valid California Driver’s License You must provide copies of permit/credential as required for position or provide evidence of qualifying for required permit/credential with your application materials to qualify for the position.
