Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Technology, installs, maintains, and repairs district computer equipment and peripherals to enhance the quality of established curriculum and prevent service interruption of equipment; repairs computers, printers, scanners, optical mark readers, phones and other peripherals; installs, maintains and troubleshoot hardware and software problems for Windows and Chrome operating system and document imaging systems; installs cables necessary for computer systems, networks and microcomputers throughout the district; runs wire through attics and under buildings both in and out of conduit; performs a variety of duties assisting schools and staff in using, assessing, planning, recommending and upgrading technology and/or computer related equipment; and plans, installs, and maintains network and telecommunication wiring and infrastructure using a variety of hand tools and light equipment. Drive a District vehicle to sites to conduct work; maintain related logs and inventory records; prioritize and respond to emergency service calls.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education/Experience: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by additional training in computer repair and three years of experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of computer systems, peripherals and related equipment. Knowledge/Abilities: A working experience and knowledge of Windows 7 or higher, Macintosh System 10 or higher, HTML, DOS and other software operating systems and applications in a personal computer networking environment is required. Other: A valid California driver’s license and insurability by the District for insurance purposes must be maintained at all times.
