Job Summary
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Superintendent or designee, the Director-Information Technology, plans, organizes and directs the Information Services and related activities of the District; provides efficient access to information to support District schools and departments in their administrative activities; supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned staff; supports the continuous efforts; and performs other related duties as assigned. The Director-Information Technology is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective information technologies, software, and systems for business, payroll, human resources, student, and other software and systems determined by the District. The Director will demonstrate the ability to work with internal administrators and staff as well as external technology experts in the provision of optimal technology services. Supervision is received from the Superintendent of designee. Supervision is exercised over subordinate staff.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, technology, or a related field. • Five (5) years of professional information systems experience, at least three (3) years of which were in a supervisory or management level capacity. • Public school experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE OF: Knowledge of Technical and administrative principles and practices of information systems; technology rules, regulations, and guidelines that apply to K-12 education; Erate and other funding systems for public school funding; principles and techniques of systems analysis and design; common hardware applicable to school district use, including servers, telecommunications systems, and peripherals; Software systems and current languages utilized by school districts; servers and network software systems utilized by school districts; budget preparation and control; oral and written communication skills; principles and practices of administration, supervision, and training. Applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures; interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: A valid California Driver's License with a driving record that meets the insurance requirements of the District. Proficiency working with Goggle, CISCO, AERIES SIS, Helios, Aesop and other software programs determined by the District. Please refer to the job description for additional information.

EXAMINATION: The examination process may include a written examination, performance test, and technical oral interview.
All offers of employment are conditional, based upon the successful completion of the following: Fingerprint/background clearance, drug screening, and a test for tuberculosis by a district approved physician.
