Job Summary
Job Summary
The Learning Communities for School Success Plan, a statewide grant program administered by the Lake County Office of Education, provides extra support and school site services to students and their families related to attendance. The Youth Advocate works under the supervision of, and reports directly to the Healthy Start Site Supervisor, providing culturally competent service coordination, including referrals, service planning, and monitoring progress of student attendance.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: • Any combination equivalent to an Associate’s degree in social work, education or related field. Experience: • Two years of case management or related experience. • Working with children and/or adolescents providing direct services to individuals and/or groups is desired. • Working in a school-based or community-based family support program with case management emphasis is preferred. The Lake County Office of Education offers the following benefits to regular classified employees:
• Health and Welfare: there is an annual benefits cap of $17,500 for full-time employees; part-time employees (6+ hours per day) receive their cap at a prorated rate. Includes medical, prescription, dental, and vision for employees and all eligible dependents, based on the Tier coverage selected by the employee. Employee's out-of-pocket contribution amount will vary based on the selection; employees may purchase coverage through a 125-cafeteria plan.
• Longevity Pay (Years: 5,10,15,20,25,30,35)
• Paid Sick Leave (96 hours per year/prorated based on service days/hours)
• Vacation Pay (15 to 27 days/Yr. depending on years of district service)
• Paid Holidays (See District Calendar)
