Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Security and Safety Services, the Security Manager assists in the oversight of daily operations of the Security Department. The Security Manager assists in the coordination, supervision, evaluation, and training of Campus Security Agents and Patrol Agents. The Security Manager responds to emergency incidents and provides guidance, direction and support to site administrators to successfully mitigate emergency incidents. Assists in the direction of the District’s security programs, protocols and policies; provides for the safety and welfare of students while on school grounds; generally ensures the safety and security of District facilities, property, personnel and students in compliance with applicable federal, state, local and district laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; assists in the development and implementation of programs designed to increase safety and decrease violence; deters truancy, and works flexible hours as the needs of the District dictates; collaborates with law enforcement agencies serving District schools. The Security Manager assists in the direction of department staff, security programs, and processes.

Education and Training Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred. Associates degree in a related field; OR 60 college credit units in a related field; OR five (5) years of experience related to safety and security, acquired from any combination of: law enforcement, military police or security forces (verified by DD-214), school district safety or security employment; two years working with juveniles preferred.Licenses and Other Requirements:
Drug Testing Clearance, valid First Aid and CPR Certificates. Valid California's Class C driver’s license and Evidence of Insurability. Pepper Spray Course Certificate, Possession of a California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services guard card. Must also complete the California SB 1626 24 hour BSIS Campus Security Course. 832 P.C. Arrest, Search & Seizure (40 hours Course) or police academy or equivalent training within one year of employment. Completed FEMA Incident Command System 100. NIMS IS-100 Introduction to the Incident Command System. NIMS IS-200 Incident Command System for Single Resources. NIMS IS-700 National Incident Management System.
