Job Summary
Job Summary
The Director of English Language Development (ELD) will lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of instructional strategies to boost the academic performance of English learners. This role involves close collaboration with school site administrators, ELD Coordinators, cluster data teams, and other team members to develop effective strategies that drive student achievement, ensure equity and access, and close the achievement gap. The Director will utilize formative and summative data to support and monitor language acquisition and intervention programs, increase rigor, and foster continuous improvement. A strong commitment to educational equity, leadership skills, and expertise in second language acquisition are essential for success in this role.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience: Valid, Clear CA Credential, either Single subject, ELA, or multi-subject credential (Preferred) At least four years teaching English Language Learners and a demonstrated track record of success in improving their language acquisition in a designated classroom setting Two or more years of out of classroom experience (highly desired) Two or more years of coaching and/or mentoring experience directly with elementary school teachers (highly desired) School Leadership experience (preferred) Familiarity with the policies, procedures, and training associated with the administration of the ELPAC, CAASPP, CAST Proficiency in ELA Standards and English Language Development Standards/Proficiency Level Descriptors Proficiency in analyzing, communicating, and presenting data Understanding and command of the best practices in teaching ELLs Fluent in Spanish and/or Korean Bachelor's Degree Possession of either Bilingual, Cross-Cultural, Language and Academic Development (BCLAD) certificate; Cross-Cultural, Language and Academic Development (CLAD) certificate; Bilingual Certificate of Competence (BCC); or Language Development Specialist (LDS) certificate desirable

Salary and Benefits:
Salary: BSS salary is based on experience and education. Salary range is 90-110k
Status: Full Time, 12-month calendar
Start Date: An exceptional candidate will assume a full-time role as soon as possible.
