Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: California Counseling Standards, District policies/procedures including harassment and bullying policies, state and federal laws and regulations related to instruction, discipline, mandated reporting laws and protocols in accordance with District and state regulations, suicide prevention-intervention-post intervention procedures in accordance with District guidelines, attendance, special education, Section 504, Title IX, and Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA); adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and trauma-informed practices, PBIS, restorative practices, behavior management, and effective practices for students needing SEL services; case management and linking services as well as developing effective behavior management strategies, BIPs. Experience and Education: * Three years of school-based and/or community-based experience in an urban setting working with culturally linguistically diverse populations as well as the behavioral and mental health field * Possession of a valid California credential authorizing service as a school counselor
