Job Summary

The job of the Family and Community Engagement Liaison is for the purpose of providing support to the instructional program and serves as a liaison between the school, parents, students, and the community; provides information regarding school or district programs, procedures, activities, rules, and regulations; provides translations or interpretation services for limited and non-English speaking parents and provides better communication between the school and its community.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education/Training/Experience Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from high school or equivalency. Six months’ experience in community service programs or related areas. Experience working with families and children in an educational or child-care setting is highly desirable. (Please review the job description for more information) EXAMINATION PROCEDURES This is a promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test or performance test and a structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each section of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each test part. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future permanent and substitute vacancies. Applicants who may need reasonable accommodation for interviewing or testing must notify the Personnel Department at (562) 690-2321, three business days prior to the testing date. Date of Examination Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email or telephone of the time, date, and place of the examination(s).
