Job Summary

Job Summary

Responsible for instructing high school students in the field of band and music while creating a safe and orderly learning environment. Position motivates students to develop an interest in and an appreciation for the art of music. Position develops knowledge, skills, and talents of students in the field of music, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques appropriate to students’ interests and abilities. Must have knowledge of all wind instruments (fingerings, embouchure). Will teach, direct and manage all aspects of the Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Marching Band. Must possess the ability to work with parents to engage them in helping with events and fundraising. Will report directly to the school principal and performs other duties connected with the school program as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid California Teaching Credential. • Minimum of three (3) years teaching Band in either middle school or high school. • Demonstrates expertise in knowledge and teaching of instrumental music. • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
