Job Summary
The Los Angeles County Office of Education seeks candidates who possess specialized skills in payroll processing and reporting and a high proficiency in automated payroll and accounting systems to fill the role of Payroll Officer. Under administrative direction, plans, organizes, and manages the activities and functions of the internal payroll unit; oversees the development and implementation of integrated enterprise business systems, ensures payroll systems and activities comply with applicable rules, laws, codes, regulations, and labor agreements; develops and analyzes financial reports on payroll and benefits information; and manages supervisory, technical, and clerical payroll staff responsible for accurate and timely preparation of payroll warrants and reports.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification, from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Experience: Five years of experience in payroll reporting and operations involving automated business accounting systems, including three years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
