Requirements / Qualifications
Credit Recovery teachers support an additional caseload of students in completing a self-paced credit recovery course after the typical 8:45am-2:30pm instructional day. The teacher is responsible for all aspects of course completion, including course set up, welcoming and orienting students to the credit recovery course process and expectations, monitoring student progress, consistently interacting with students as they progress through the course, outreach to students not fully engaged in the course, and instructing students to ensure mastery of content. Credit recovery courses are primarily or fully computer graded. The teacher’s role is to ensure student engagement and progress, meet with and remediate students who fail unit assessments, open additional attempts, and proactively engage students in course content so that students can recover credits and graduate in their cohort year. HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION: 4 hours per week, per assigned section This is a stipend position per the CBA. We do participate in CalSTRS. EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS: • Strong organizational skills • Detail-oriented • Able to balance and complete multiple projects • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Self-directed but comfortable working as part of a team • Proficient with student record processes • Current CAVA Teacher or Admin REQUIRED CREDENTIAL/CERTIFICATION: (All applicants MUST have the following at the time of applying) Must hold a valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in the subject area assigned California English Learner Authorization
