Requirements / Qualifications

- Possess (or be in the process of obtaining) a valid and appropriate California Driver's License. - BA in Speech Pathology or related field (must obtain a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Certificate within 10 months of employment) OR Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Certificate Must demonstrate Highly Qualified status using the following education requirements: - High School Diploma or equivalent AND (a) Two years of higher education study (48 semester units or 72 quarter units), OR (b) Possess an Associate's or higher degree, OR (c) Successful completion of a Fontana Unified School District-approved Paraprofessional Certificate and/or Paraprofessional Assessment Exam. Under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, the law requires that paraprofessionals who assist in classroom instruction must meet the specific educational requirements listed above. Proof of certificates, education, etc., will be required upon recommendation for employment. PLEASE READ: "Job Description/Essential Elements" above to review additional qualifications for this position. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION: -Experience working with students with speech and language concerns.
