The Student Support Services Department of the Long Beach Community College District is seeking highly qualified individuals for a current opportunity as a Program Manager, Title V Grants, and Academic Success and Support Services! This individual will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, reviewing, and evaluating operations and activities related to the Postsecondary Achievement and Success Opportunity (PASO) and Success and Completion Achievement Network (SCAN) programs supporting Adult Learners as known as indirect matriculants at Long Beach City College.

 

The PASO and SCAN programs provide various academic, career, and student support services designed to promote the success and retention of indirect matriculants. The Program Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of the program with meeting students' needs and aligning with college goals, initiatives, and grant objectives.

 

We are looking for someone who has obtained a Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field, and three (3) years of experience in grant administration, grant program planning, project management; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

• Be a creative problem solver

• Exhibit exceptional customer service skills, business communication, project management, and organizational skills

• Have the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders across the District and lead a diverse team

AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION

 

Type of position: Full time (40 hours/week)

Position Status: Permanent

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5:00pm

Location: Pacific Coast Campus (PCC)

Salary: Range 7, $93,875.00 - $127,906.00 Annually

Eligibility list: Will be valid for 6 months once approved or ratified by the Personnel Commission. We reserve the right to use the established eligibility list for vacancies (permanent and temporary) in this classification as well as related classifications.

Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Duties

 

GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the direction of both Vice Presidents of Student Services and Academic Affairs and reporting to the assigned Dean of Academic Success, Inclusion, and Support Services, the Program Manager will assist with planning, organizing, coordinating, reviewing, and evaluating operations and activities related to the Postsecondary Achievement and Success Opportunity (PASO) and Success and Completion Achievement Network (SCAN) program grants supporting indirect matriculants at Long Beach City College.

Qualifications

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:

Education, Training and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field, and three (3) years of experience in grant administration, grant program planning, or project management; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

A valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.

 

Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements, and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.

Selection Process:

The following examination segments are pass/fail and may be utilized during the selection process:

Test parts are determined by the size and competitiveness of the candidate pool. Only the most highly qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the examination process.
