TITLE: Athletic Director & PE Teacher REPORTS TO: Executive Director DEPARTMENT: Management CLASSIFICATION: TK-12 REVISED: July 2024 BASIC FUNCTION: Under direct supervision of the Executive Director or designee, the Athletic Director and PE Teacher is responsible for coordinating, organizing, staffing, and scheduling all interscholastic athletic events and related activities for the school. The Athletic Director plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates the athletic program at the middle school/high school level. The Dean of Students oversees a comprehensive student discipline program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Athletics Director: 1. Organizing and administering to the overall program of interscholastic athletics grades 6- 12 2. Representing the school and attending meetings 3. Maintaining a positive working relationship with stakeholders 4. Developing and placing into operation appropriate rules, regulations, and procedures governing the conduct of athletes both in and out of season 5. Maintaining records for coaching qualifications and first aid certifications 6. Conducting an ongoing review and annual evaluation of the interscholastic program, making recommendations for changes as appropriate 7. Meeting with the high school administration to plan and implement improvements in the athletic program 8. Assuming the responsibility for the organization and scheduling of all interscholastic athletic events 9. Arranging field and gymnasium practice schedules for interscholastic programs 10. Arranging transportation for participants 11. Administering and enforcing all requirements of eligibility for participation in each sport and verifying each athlete's eligibility across the marking period/trimesters 12.
