Job Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services, the Principal on Special Assignment is responsible for: • Assisting in the development, implementation, and coordination of the district’s curriculum and related professional learning • Providing leadership and expertise in the planning, organization, and coordination of innovation and design • Assists in the facilitation of committees related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment. • Serves as a resource and mentor to Principals, Assistant Principals, and instructional staff • Prepares reports for the Board of Education as necessary
Requirements / Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree Required
- Must hold valid Teaching and Administrative Credential
- Must have a strong record of instructional leadership as a teacher and as an administrator
- 4 years previous experience as a Principal in an elementary school setting
- Must possess outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Proven strategic planning and project management skills with the ability to translate strategies from plans to action
- Expertise in curriculum and instruction including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI), Essential Elements of Instruction, Cultures of Thinking, and English Language Development
