Join the dynamic and award-winning Long Beach Community College District Public Affairs and Marketing Department! We're looking for a talented and creative Senior Media Producer to join our amazing team and help tell the stories of Long Beach City College in new and exciting ways! The incumbent is responsible for carrying out the most complex and sensitive studio and field video production assignments. The Senior Media Producer will be responsible for developing and implementing concepts, guidelines, and strategies for various video projects and managing them from start to finish. They will strategically plan and lead media production efforts to create content for LBCC's social media and cable station, ensuring high-quality creative output for assigned projects. Additionally, incumbents serve as team leaders and are responsible for overseeing and guiding all media production projects for the purpose of fostering a positive image for Long Beach City College. Duties and responsibilities are carried out with considerable independence within the framework of established policies, procedures, and guidelines. AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION
• Type of position: Full time (40 hours/week)
• Position Status: Permanent
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with occasional work hours in the evenings and on weekends
• Location: Liberal Arts Campus (LAC)
• Salary: $96,388.20 - $118,987.08 Annually
• Eligibility list: Will be valid for 12 months once approved or ratified by the Personnel Commission. We reserve the right to use the established eligibility list for vacancies (permanent and temporary) in this classification as well as related classifications.
• Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

GENERAL PURPOSE

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Senior Media Producer is the senior-level classification in a two-level class structure. Incumbents carry out the most complex and sensitive studio and field video production assignments. An incumbent is responsible for conceiving and implementing concepts, guidelines and strategies for various video projects and managing them to completion; ensuring the production of high-quality creative content for assigned projects. Additionally, incumbents serve as team leaders and are responsible for overseeing and guiding all projects for the purpose of fostering a positive image for LBCC. Duties and responsibilities are carried out with considerable independence within the framework of established policies, procedures and guidelines.Senior Media Producer is distinguished from Media Producer in that an incumbent in the latter class performs a full range of pre- and post- production activities of lesser complexity and do not serve as team leaders with oversight responsibilities.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
Education, Training and Experience: Bachelor's degree in communications, television production or a closely related field; and four (4) years of progressively responsible video/audio production experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience in live/web streaming production and the use of broadcast quality and high-end production equipment is preferred. Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements: May require a valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.
Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements, and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.
