POSITION: Mentor Coach JOB CODE: ESETC OCCUPATIONAL GROUPING: Education REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Educational Services CLASSIFICATION: Exempt POSITION TYPE: Full Time/Full Year (12-Months) SALARY GRADE: 37 HOURLY PAY RANGE: $27.86 to $32.30 PROGRAM SUMMARY Plaza de la Raza Child Development Services, Inc. (Plaza) is a comprehensive early childhood education program with a focus on school readiness for children zero to five years of age. Developmentally appropriate services are provided for children from low-income families, zero to five years of age. Plaza de la Raza currently serves over 700 children and their families. DEFINITION Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Educational Services and Center Operations, this position assists and/or develops and updates classroom programs and procedures for instructional outcomes, curriculum implementation, child assessment and cultural and linguistic responsiveness. This position provides staff with an assessment to identify strengths, areas of needed support and which staff would benefit from intensive coaching through opportunities to be observed and receive feedback and modeling of effective teaching practices related to program performance goals. If intensive coaching is needed this position provides coaching that aligns with the program’s school readiness goals, curricula, and other approaches to professional development providing ongoing communication between the coach, the Assistant Director of Educational Services and the Executive Director. Assessments will include clearly articulated goals informed by the program’s goals, and a process for achieving the identified goals.
