LODI UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT CLASS TITLE: STOREKEEPER BASIC FUNCTION: Receive, store, pull and distribute a variety of District supplies, food, materials and equipment; coordinate and conduct physical stores and food inventory activities; operate a computer terminal to input, update and maintain related warehouse records and inventory records. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: Individual positions may not perform all of the duties listed nor do these examples include all responsibilities of positions in this class. Receive, inspect and store materials, supplies, food, commodities and other warehouse items; assure compliance with quantity and condition of delivered items; check and inspect materials received and assure compliance with purchase orders; contact vendors regarding discrepancies and return items as necessary. E Operate a computer terminal to input, update and maintain related warehouse records and inventory records. E Receive warehouse stock orders, pull, wrap and prepare for delivery; assist in loading and unloading delivery vehicles. E Store materials in a neat, orderly and efficient manner; maintain safety controls in accordance with MSDS guidelines; observe fire and pest control standards. E Communicate with vendors, District administrators and staff regarding warehouse operations, back orders and related issues; provide information and resolve issues, complaints and concerns related to orders. E Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other related equipment. E Prepare and maintain a variety of records related to daily activities, including purchase orders, back orders and inventory. E Perform related duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: KNOWLEDGE OF: Methods and practices used in receiving, storing, disbursing and delivering supplies, materials, food and equipment. Use and terminology of requisitions, purchase orders, invoices and other warehouse documents. Proper loading and unloading of trucks. Shipping and receiving procedures. Operation of a forklift, hand trucks, pallet jacks and other assigned equipment. District locations of schools and offices. Appropriate methods for lifting and loading food, supplies, furniture and equipment. ABILITY TO: Receive, store, ship and deliver materials, supplies, food and equipment to various locations. Operate forklift, pallet jack and other equipment utilized in the warehouse. Apply and explain warehousing procedures relating to the receipt, storage and issuance of food, equipment and supplies. Operate a computer terminal and maintain routine records. Work cooperatively with others. Meet schedules and time lines. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma or equivalent and increasingly responsible warehousing or related experience. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California driver’s license. Forklift Operator’s certification. WORKING CONDITIONS: ENVIRONMENT: Warehouse, indoor and outdoor environment. Exposure to extreme cold working in food service freezers. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling heavy objects. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate various warehouse equipment. Sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Heavy physical labor. Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally. Bending at the waist and stooping. HAZARDS: Working around and with machinery having moving parts. Working at heights. Board Approved 11/2/99
