Requirements / Qualifications

**All of the required documents must be submitted with the application in order to test and be considered for the position. Completed Classified Edjoin application - Resume - At least three Signed Letters of Reference less than one year old and one must be from immediate supervisor. (Electronic signatures are not accepted.) -Typing certificate minimum 40 net words per minute 5 minutes in duration issued within the last two years. (On-line certificates are not accepted) Must pass Secretarial/Clerical examination: Exam date: August 12, 2024 9 am - 11 am - Location: 1717 W. Merced Ave., West Covina 91790. Hours: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Under direction of the assigned supervisor(s), to perform a wide variety of complex and specialized clerical and secretarial work relating to classified and/or certificated personnel involving confidential matters, including credentialing; to assist administrative personnel by taking responsibility for administrative detail relevant to classified and/or certificated personnel; perform advanced work on the personnel/payroll Human Resources data system.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Five years of responsible clerical or secretarial experience, including public contact responsibilities; preferably at least one year in a school district Human Resources office. Education equivalent to graduation from high school, including or supplemented by courses in typing, business correspondence, modern business methods, and computer operations. Experience in processing credentials is highly desirable, but other combinations of training and/or experience providing the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities may be considered REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Typing certificate minimum 40 net words per minute 5 minutes in duration issued within the last two years (On-line certificates are not accepted). Must possess a valid California Driver’s License during the course of employment; must be insurable at standard rates and maintain such insurability during the course of employment.
