Job Summary
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, provide instruction, care and assistance to preschool-age children in a classroom environment; monitor and assess student needs and progress; develop and implement lesson plans and instructional activities to meet the emotional, physical and educational needs of children and assure students are prepared for kindergarten; prepare and maintain reports and records related to student progress and assigned activities.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Education Graduation from high school or equivalent and completion of a minimum of 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE)/Child Development (CD) from a regionally accredited college/university. Coursework must include the core classes of Child Growth and Development, Programs/Curriculum, and Child, Family & Community. Associate’s degree is preferred. Proof of education (copies of official transcripts or diploma) must be submitted with the application. Experience: One year of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care and development program. Other: Bilingual/Spanish Required LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid CA Child Development Associate Teacher or higher Permit or ability to qualify for the permit. (Must be attached to your online application) Valid California Class C driver’s license. Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certificate (15 hours of Health Education to meet Title XXII requirements). Immunization for Measles (MMR), Pertussis (T-dap), and Flu Shot. Proof of these documents must be submitted at time of employment.
