Requirements / Qualifications

BASIC FUNCTION:

Under the direction of the Curriculum Coordinator of Instructional Technology, supervises the operation of District classroom technological applications, Instructional Technology Support Desk and Personal Computer Support Technicians. Also supervises the day-to-day operation of the district computer lab and manages the creation and implementation of training courses for end-users on district computer systems. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE OF: Principles of supervision Functions of support desk operation Computer systems training techniques Current technology pertaining to classroom applications Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy ABILITY TO: Work in a high-paced environment with multiple competing priorities Analyze and resolve technical problems Proactively create safeguards for information integrity Meet with computer users to determine the best fit between computer hardware/software and the end-users' needs Work effectively with others in a team atmosphere Drive a vehicle to conduct District business

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and three years experience in managing the installation of computer system hardware and software, the creation and maintenance of a highly customer-oriented support desk, and in setting up and enforcing data-integrity standards for central computer systems. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California Driver’s License; may require driving own vehicle. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS The following MUST BE ATTACHED to the application:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS If selected for the position, out-of-district applicants must be T.B. tested and fingerprinted. A practical skills test may be administered at the time of interview.
