Darnall Charter School - ELD Teacher Job Description Darnall Charter School is seeking a talented and passionate ELD Teacher to join our team and play a vital role in fostering strong student learning outcomes! This is a PT position with the possibility of becoming an FT position. The Ideal Candidate: Enjoys collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement effective instructional practices. Possesses a strong understanding of Second Language Acquisition (SLA) theories and methodologies. Is committed to providing high-quality Designated ELD instruction and integrating language development across the curriculum. Responsibilities: Instruction (70%) Design and deliver engaging ELD lessons for small groups (5-20 students) in grades K-8, utilizing our Benchmark ELD curriculum and PBL. Administer benchmark and progress monitoring assessments to inform data-driven instruction and differentiated learning strategies. Partner with the Associate Director to develop student proficiency groupings, schedules, and performance goals. Collaborate with grade-level teachers to identify and address language needs across the curriculum. Provide targeted tier 2 language and literacy support for struggling learners. Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) Communicate effectively with parents regarding their Multilingual Learner (ML) student's progress. Compliance (30%) Complete quarterly progress reports for current ML students in a timely manner. Coordinate and administer Initial and Summative ELPAC assessments to ensure accurate language proficiency data. Analyze assessment data and draft clear headlines for teachers to understand student progress. Actively participate in the annual reclassification review process for exiting ML status.
