Job Summary

Altus Schools East County (ASEC), affiliated with Altus Schools, is an educational model in which students in grades 7-12 engage in blended learning instruction while working towards individualized course completion via a Pathways Personalized Education Plan (PPEP). The Altus Schools Educator is competent, energetic, and student-centered with exceptional classroom management and organizational skills. This position requires a dedicated individual who understands adolescents, is able to motivate students, sets high expectations, exemplifies equitable and inclusive practices, employs a data-driven approach, embraces accountability, and is a team player.

Current California Single- or Multi-Subject Teaching Credential CLAD Certification/ ELA 1 Authorization Pass a work styles/behavior survey and math assessment Clear background check by the Department of Justice and FBI Valid California driver license and transportation required.

We are on a mission to transform the lives of students! Altus Schools East County (ASEC) is a free public school option, serving students in grades 7-12 who seek an alternative learning experience to the traditional school setting. The instructional design is based on a "University Model." Students work independently and attend labs, or tutorials 1-2 times/wk. Students come at scheduled times; no more than 20 students on site at a time. The learning environment, located in resource centers, is fully equipped with laptops, desktop computers, wireless networks, and high-speed T-1 Internet access. Repeatedly recognized for its quality instructional program, high-caliber teaching and strong operational performance, ASEC seeks to redefine how teachers teach and students learn. SELECTION PROCEDURE: Selected applicants will complete a work styles/ behavioral survey and math assessment. Candidates who successfully complete this phase will be interviewed by a panel of School Administrators. Candidates who successfully complete this phase of the process will be interviewed by the Deputy Superintendent School Services and Founding Director and the Superintendent School Services and Founder.
