Growing Secondary Charter School is seeking a Secondary Level MATH Teacher to teach math concepts from Grade Level 6th through High School Calculus.  

All teachers at WISH will be required to hold a Commission on Teacher Credentialing Certificate, permit, or other document that would satisfy School District requirements.

All core subject teachers will be “highly qualified” as that term is defined under the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), and further defined by California state regulations implementing the NCLB requirements, unless such requirements are not deemed by the federal or state government to apply to charter schools such as WISH.

English Language Learner Authorization required.

Teachers at WISH are expected to be knowledgeable about child cognitive development and various learning styles and modalities. We request that candidates have experience in working collaboratively. Co-teaching experience will be highly desirable. Other qualifications will include:

•          Bachelors degree

•          Valid California Multiple Subject Credential and/or applicable Single Subject Credentials or Teaching Authorizations.

•          English Language Learner Authorization required

•          NCLB Highly Qualified

•          CLAD or BCLAD certificates;

•          Demonstrated subject competence through appropriate examination or coursework;

•          Background clearance from FBI/DOJ

•          TB clearance

Required Skills & Experience: *Single-subject High School Math credential (Algebra and Geometry) *Excellent content knowledge and competency *Willingness to participate in Project Lead the Way training for advanced certification in Engineering, funded by WISH (WISH will fund two PLTW courses per year) *Preference for candidates that have a degree in fields related to Mathematics and/or Engineering *Growth mindset *Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. *Excellent oral and written communication skills. *Experience and commitment to working collaboratively with staff, parents, and the community.
