Job Summary
Under the direction of the Superintendent, develop, implement and maintain a driver training program which ensures the training of new bus drivers and the in-service training for experienced school bus drivers; inspect school buses and ensure that buses are repaired and maintained according to established safety guidelines; scheduling of trips and drivers as assigned; plan coordinate, review and evaluate the day-to-day operations of the District's transportation department; assure optimum utilization of equipment, facilities and personnel in accordance with legal and District guidelines; provide work direction and guidance to assigned staff.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to graduation from High School and three years of increasingly responsible school bus operations experience. Licenses and Other Certifications: School bus driver Instructor certificate or eligible for bus driver instructor certificate issued by the State of California Department of Education: Class B or a Driver's License; School Bus Driver's Certificate issued by the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles ; First Aid Requirements according to 82.7 204 or VC12522
