Job Summary
The Elementary LOTE Coordinator is responsible for providing direct and indirect program support to administration, teachers, and program support staff to provide consistent and effective services for students in the district enrolled in core programs that require them to speak a language other than English. The Elementary LOTE Coordinator assists District staff in the development and implementation of high-quality instruction and curricular programs to support the coordination, implementation and evaluation of our Global Languages Academy of Downey (G.L.A.D.), Dual Immersion pathways and English Learner student population, and performs other duties connected with the educational program as assigned. The Coordinator I reports directly to the Director of Elementary Education.
Requirements / Qualifications
Credentials and Experience • Master’s Degree, required • Multiple Subject or Single Subject teaching credential, required • Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience • Bilingual or BCLAD authorization or equivalent, required • Administrative Credential, required Knowledge of • Multilingual and multicultural knowledge Ability to • Ability to facilitate all aspects of strategic management and adult coaching required by the Dual Immersion/Global Competence Program
