Job Summary
The Central Academic Recovery (CAR) team in OUSD's Linked Learning Office is seeking a highly motivated and organized Counselor to support and grow our district wide academic recovery efforts. CAR supports academic recovery (AR) efforts across OUSD's high school campuses via: School Day AR, Online AR & Summer Healing & Academics 4 Kids (HAcK) credit recovery for 9th & 10th graders. Some core responsibilities unique to this "central" Counselor position are: collaborate with counselors across high schools to recruit students to CAR programs; provide student support around well-being; academic planning, transcript reviews; frequent family outreach & engagement; data management for reports & program evaluation, etc. BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of assigned supervisor, provide counseling and guidance services to promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development for all students.
