Job Summary
Position Overview Reporting to the Managing Director, Charter Schools, or as assigned, the Charter School Director of Data & Operations will ensure that PLN is operating highly effectively charter schools by providing leadership, support, systems, accountability, professional development, and coaching for operations personnel at the network and individual school-site levels. The ideal candidate possesses a deep passion for education, is knowledgeable of charter schools, CA Community Schools, state and federal compliance and monitoring, and has professional experience in school operations, project management, people management, and other related functions. They are fully dedicated to the mission of PLN and committed to keeping the academic and personal success of our scholars as a core focus while striving to grow professionally and support the operational excellence of our network of schools. Additionally, the ideal candidate is a systems thinker, detailed oriented, collaborative, and highly communicative. The Director is an active member of both PLN’s leadership team and its school team and has direct supervision of the IT Coordinator, Student Success Manager, and Food Program staff. The Director works collaboratively with the school administrators, each school’s leadership team, and each school’s Operations Leads, Office Managers and Facility Teams. The Director may provide advice on, but does not direct, the day-to-day operation of the schools or personnel decisions. Duties Operational Capacity & Support • Support the Student Success Manager to provide coaching, professional development and support to office managers and Operations Leads at each school site. • Manage the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program (NSLP, SBP), including monthly claims, procurement, and all auditing areas necessary for compliance.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience Requirements • At least 5 years’ experience in a related field and a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience. • Track record of success working with K-8th grade student populations, particularly those classified as English Learners, Students with Disabilities, High-Poverty, or other potential risk factors. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other educational leaders. • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and lead teams through a meaning-making process that leads to improvement. • Demonstrated ability to conduct evidence-based review of curriculum and assessment options. • Ability to effectively handle challenging situations with students, parents, and faculty. Education and Certification Requirements • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
