Job Summary
Counselors at Stockton Collegiate International Schools (“SCIS” or the “School”) are responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for growth as described in the School’s mission statement, the IB Learner Profile, and California State Standards. This person is responsible for providing student counseling services that support students in managing social, emotional, and mental well-being and achieving academic success in accordance with School policies. The Counselor • Contributes to a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process. • Works under supervision of Director of Student Services to proactively provide student social, emotional, and behavioral support. • Collaborates with the general education teacher, SPED teachers, and Director of Student Services in the management of a student behavior. • Completes reports as required. • Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures. • Uses ManageBac and PowerSchool in accordance with school policy. • Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis. • Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community. • Participates in authorized International Baccalaureate training and other training identified as important by Stockton Collegiate International Schools. • Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating and collaborating with colleagues. • Attends staff meetings, parent/teacher conference days, meetings with coordinators, and training dates as outlined in the school calendar. • Fulfills responsibilities within the physical parameters of the Stockton Collegiate classrooms and buildings, including, but not limited to, walking between buildings, utilizing stairs in multi-storybuildin
