Job Summary

The Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Long-Term Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports students' academic, social, and emotional growth. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality instruction, foster positive relationships with students and families, and meet all California TK teaching requirements.

Requirements / Qualifications

One requirement from each bulleted group MUST be met before your application will be considered. - Credential Copy (One of the following must be submitted: Valid multiple subject credential, evidence of application to CTC, or a letter from your University stating you are "Intern Eligible") - English Learner Authorization (One of following must be submitted: Credential copy showing ELA, CLAD Cert, or BCLAD certification) - Letter of Introduction - Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three) - Must be current. - Resume

In addition to holding a valid CA multiple subject teaching credential, per Education Code 48000(g), the BPA SD governing board has adopted the following requirement for a Transitional Kindergarten Teacher: Either/or combination of the following verified requirement(s): 24 semester units in early childhood education, or childhood development, or both. A child development teacher permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). Professional work experience in a classroom setting with preschool age children that is comparable to the 24 semester units of education described in bullet one. Units are determined by the following: 75 hours or 10 days work experience equates to 1 Unit. 1800 hours or 240 days work experience equates to 24 units. Incremental units will be prorated based on 75 hours or 10 days work experience. (36 Quarter Units = 24 Semester Units. Quarter units are converted into semester units by multiplying the quarter units by 0.67. Units are converted and then rounded down.)
