The Registered Nurse will provide confidential health care services to currently enrolled students, which includes health promotion, illness prevention, and health education.

 

The Registered Nurse will provide the following types of services to individuals visiting Student Health Services: first aid, student engagement/outreach, family planning education, Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing and treatment, as well as general health screenings and medical services.

 

The Registered Nurse will work in a collaborative relationship with physicians, nurse practitioners, clinical psychologists.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's degree in Nursing with a minimum of two years' experience in the discipline; AND

 

A valid, current California Registered Nursing License; AND

 

A current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certificate; AND

 

Commitment to diversity. Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of college students, and of individuals with disabilities. The applicant must be able to demonstrate how their experience with these factors relates to successfully achieving the goals of the position.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a California Public Health Nurse certificate.

Two years' experience in ambulatory and adult public health.

Prior experience in college health is highly desirable.

Prior experience in approaching work and interactions with colleagues and/or students in an equity minded manner and the ability to provide an inclusive and welcoming work/educational environment.

SALARY:

Part-time non-instructional faculty are compensated on a semester basis up to 25 hours per week. The beginning rate is $59.57-$79.39, per hour depending on education and experience.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

On-call, hourly, part-time, temporary position, beginning July 15, 2024. Assignments may include off-site locations. Offer and acceptance of employment is subject to verification of all information provided on the employment application, credential(s), and transcripts. Candidates selected for employment must agree to be fingerprinted, submit a Certificate of Completion of the Tuberculosis Risk Assessment and/or Examination, provide proof of eligibility for employment in the United States, and present a valid Social Security Card upon hire.
