ABOUT iQ ACADEMY, LOS ANGELES AND THE LEAD, EDUCATION SPECIALIST POSITION: iQ Academy, Los Angeles delivers online/virtual home based instruction to K-12 students in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are still required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily and log attendance. We use the K-12, inc. curriculum as the basis for instruction and you will teach via the Newrow platform. Teachers instruct students online daily both synchronously and asynchronously. Virtual schools are new models in public education. They look both backward to what we know works well in educating children, and forward to see how technology can help us implement these strategies with children. Virtual school lead education specialists are part of a pioneering effort. Our lead education specialists, therefore, need to share the School’s pioneering mission and approach. Experience/Requirements: • Extremely organized • Flexible • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Attention to detail • Proficient in MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, and Excel, receiving and sending fax information, scanning information • Able to complete and review IEPs accurately • Knowledgeable in K12 curriculum, CA Common Core Standards, and inclusive models of special education
