The Merced County Office of Education assists Merced County’s 20 school districts through support and oversight of curriculum and instruction, alternative education, business services, early education, technology, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing. MCOE is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships, MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County, hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates Green Meadows Outdoor School.

Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the Registration and Data Specialist performs a variety of complex clerical and statistical recordkeeping duties related to the enrollment, graduation or withdrawal of students in accordance with established policies and procedures. Receives, sets up, and evaluates student records, updates files with class credits and grades, and evaluates records for compliance with graduation requirements. Maintains and archives academic records.

Maintains and archives academic records. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/TRAINING: High school diploma or recognized equivalent. AA/AS Degree or equivalent 60 units of college coursework(preferred). EXPERIENCE: Two years of progressive experience providing administrative support in records, attendance, and data entry of student information. Previous experience as a school registrar and/or experience working in an alternative education setting preferred. CREDENTIALS AND/OR SKILLS: Type 45 wpm. (online certificates are NOT acceptable) Bilingual English/Spanish. Knowledge of student information systems preferred. SELECTION PROCESS: Applications will be reviewed for satisfaction of minimum qualifications, including submitting all required documents. A maximum of eight applicants will be invited for a panel interview. All candidates will be notified via email following final selection.
