This ELD/Newcomer position is a full-time 1.0 FTE position for the upcoming school year (2024-2025).

Requirements / Qualifications

Provide English Language Development instruction to students in grades 6-8 who have been identified as newcomers and/or English Language Development Level 1 through the Initial ELPAC and other assessments. Incorporate appropriate, differentiated, engaging learning strategies to enable students to grow academically and socio-emically. Welcome students and nurture supportive relationships. Collaborate with school staff to support students and families in navigating the school system, achieving academic success, gaining language proficiency, and accessing community resources. Candidates should have experience working within professional learning communities (PLC); Silverado teachers work closely together to use data and instructional strategies to support all students to succeed. Candidates must value collaboration and teamwork as they will be expected to contribute positively to their PLC. Applicants should be enthusiastic, cooperative and dedicated to effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
