Job Summary

The Position: Experienced teachers are hired as “Certificated Contracted” to assist district schools throughout the count of Los Angeles in providing Practicum Supervision services to new teacher candidates (district interns). Practicum Supervisors work with interns (candidates) who hold district intern credentials and are working to earn their Preliminary teaching credentials. LACOE Practicum Supervisors guide candidates through the Intern process of designing, planning, analyzing, and reflecting in order to meet the California Teacher Performance Expectations.

Requirements / Qualifications

Requirements for Applying: • The applicant must have at least three years of teaching experience (on a valid Clear Credential) with recommendations/references. Applicants must possess one of the credentials/authorizations below in order to be eligible for the position: • Education Specialist (Mild/Moderate) • Education Specialist (Moderate/Severe) (*high need) • Early Childhood Special Education • Multiple Subject • PK-3 Early Childhood Education Specialist Instruction • Single Subject: Biological Sciences • Single Subject: Chemistry • Single Subject: Math (*high need) • Single Subject: Foundation Level Mathematics • Single Subject: Music • Single Subject: Physical Education (*high need) • Single Subject: Physics • Single Subject: Science: Biological Sciences • Single Subject: Spanish (*high need) • BCLAD

Applicants are responsible for submitting the following in addition to the electronic EDJOIN employment application: • credential copy (Possess and maintain a valid clear California Credential in one of the subjects listed above) • letter of introduction • 3 letters of recommendation dated and signed within the last 12 months (at least one from current or most recent supervisor preferred) • current resume Prior to hiring, applicants will need to verify/complete the following as conditions of employment: • current negative TB test results • passing score on the CBEST (original must be provided) • Mandated Reporter Training through LACOE • Anti Harassment Training through LACOE • fingerprinting
